Most dropouts have passing grades

A new survey suggests that the high school drop out problem can be fixed. Most students don't drop out because they can't do the work. Nearly 90 percent had passing grades when they left school, according to the survey. Their major reason for opting out? The classes were too boring.

Of course, there are many other factors that play into this issue. I agree that classes can be "too boring" in terms of not visually stimulating enough-or to not include enough current, real-life examples, but also boring in the sense that once a student falls behind and becomes "lost" there often is no other avenue available than to sit and be lost and "bored".
